You can delete your Loop account at any time. Account deletion cannot be undone. Normal app access is removed first; storage and sign-in-provider cleanup follow asynchronously.
In the app
- Active members: open Profile from the bottom bar. Any other account: the app opens on a screen about your account, and Delete account is on it.
- Tap Delete account. The screen lists what will be removed.
- Tap Confirm it's you. We send a one-time code to your phone by SMS.
- Enter the code and tap Delete my account.
After you confirm, the app removes normal access to your account and starts deletion. There is no cancellation period. Photo files and sign-in records are cleaned up in background jobs; failures are retried, and existing photo links may remain usable until they expire.
Without the app
If you no longer have the app, email support@myloop.club with the subject "Delete my account" and the phone number of the account. Before deleting, we contact you at that phone number to confirm the request is yours. We aim to handle requests within 30 days, subject to the applicable legal deadline, necessary verification and any lawful preservation obligation. GDPR requests are normally answered within one month; if a permitted extension is needed, we explain it within that month. We explain any justified delay or retained information and confirm the outcome by email. If you no longer control the number, contact us to discuss another proportionate verification method.
What is deleted
- Your posts, their photos and your comments. Posts that are still open close at once.
- Your applications and their evidence: your Instagram username and the profile screenshot.
- Your profile: display name, birth year and contribution.
- Your phone number, sign-in details and terms-acceptance records.
- Your devices and push tokens, so you get no more notifications.
What stays
- Votes and Helpful marks you gave stay in the counts on other members' posts and comments, with nothing linking them to you.
- Limited reports, moderation actions and audit records may stay for safety, disputes and legal duties. They may contain account identifiers and decision history even when the app displays “Deleted member”; they are not necessarily anonymous. Contact support to request review or redaction of unnecessary identifying text.
- If the account was banned, a keyed code derived from its phone number can recognise later signup attempts. Each marker expires for signup enforcement 24 calendar months after it is created by that account deletion and is scheduled for removal. A specific preservation hold may keep it as evidence longer without extending that enforcement period. The code is pseudonymous personal information. Expiry does not itself reverse an active account’s ban or another moderation decision.
- Automated database backups are configured for seven days; manual or final snapshots and lawful preservation can last longer. Reports and audit records do not all have automatic expiry. Logs, crash reports and support correspondence follow their own retention and review process; see the privacy policy.
Joining again
After you delete your account you can apply again later with the same phone number, unless the account was banned. You will start as a new applicant, and a moderator will review your new application.
Ask about retained information
Email support@myloop.club if you want us to identify retained data, explain why it is needed or consider erasure or correction. Deletion does not override a lawful preservation duty. Retained records are restricted to appropriate safety, operational or legal use.
Requests that do not require closing your account
You can ask for access, correction, restriction or review of retained information without first deleting your account. Rights and exceptions depend on applicable law. See Your rights for EU and US request and appeal information. Support and deletion remain available if you do not accept updated Terms.
